Under the ICD Project "Mesopotamia Sun Mardin Bulgur is Opening to New Markets" carried out by our Exchange and supported by the Ministry of Commerce, under the chairmanship of our President of the Board of Directors Mehmet Şahin, KCE Project Coordinator Mehmet Uncu, DİKA Mardin Investment Support Office Coordinator Fatih Akgül and Agency Experts, Mardin Artuklu University Business Administration Department Faculty Member Ahmet Kayaoğlu, Mardin Bulgur Producers Association President Faysal Sun and Bulgur-Producing Project Stakeholders came together for a sectoral meeting held on the activities to be carried out with the road map after the needs analysis for the ICE project.
Kızıltepe Commodity Exchange President Mehmet Şahin stated that they continue to work intensively to increase the value of the agricultural activities of Mardin and that he brought the bulgur industry together in order to carry the ICE project, which we carry out to increase the brand value and market share of Mardin Bulgur. President Şahin added that it is a satisfying situation for the sector to increase the demand for bulgur in the world with each passing year.
In his presentation on the project activities, Project Coordinator Mehmet Uncu stated that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, target market countries, determined by needs analysis, cannot be visited temporarily. As a result of the meetings with the Ministry of Trade, he said that we can turn our project into an opportunity with E-Fair, Online B2B meetings and online purchasing delegations.
Ahmet Kayaoğlu, a faculty member of Mardin Artuklu University Business Administration Department, stated that they wanted to carry the Mardin Bulgur to the targeted levels carried out with DİKA and gave information about the work.
Fatih Akgül, the Coordinator of DİKA Mardin Investment Support Office, informed about the support to be provided by the Tigris Development Agency for the ICE project and the technical support program that the agency has determined for the private sector and stated that they aim for all stakeholders to carry out integrated and complementary studies.
At the meeting, where the demands and expectations of the bulgur industry were expressed, representatives of the commodity exchange sector were informed about the stock market activities within the scope of the Project on Supporting the Enhancement of International Competitiveness.
