The Pre-shipment Investigation was initiated in Central Iraqi Government on 1.7.2011 and Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government 10 months later, on 12.5.2011. Within the application, the products’ quality and standardization were detected by the inspection companies. The pre-shipment investigation was conducted by Bureau Veritas and TÜV Rheinland on behalf of Central Iraqi Government and Baltic Control, Cotecna and SGS in Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government. Besides, it is acknowledged the contracts with the mentioned companies which conduct pre-shipment investment for our products to be exported to the IKRG ended on 19.02.2017, the related contracts are not going to be renewed by the IKRG authorities and pre-shipment investigation is abolished in Northern Iraq. By the new decree, the investigation for the products to be exported too Northern Iraq will be conducted by Northern Iraq Standardization and Quality Control Department staff at Northern Iraqi customs. On the other hand, there has been no change in the pre-shipment investigation towards the products to be exported to Central Iraq and Pre-Shipment Investigation Certificate of Conformity, which are given by Bureau Veritas and TÜV Rheinland, are going to be asked for until 04.05.2017 when their agreements will end. After that date, it is probable the inspections will continue via the authorized companies according to the tenders to be initiated. According to the changes applied by IKRG, the deliveries to be made (the products destined to Central Iraq) Pre-Shipment Investigation Certificates of Conformity are going to be asked for inner customs investigation points launched between IKRG – Central Iraq, not at Khabur Customs Gate.
